FROM BUILD TO DAILY OPERATIONS.

My experience comes from building and maintaining the infrastructure behind web applications, background workers and internal tools. I work across the platform: how software gets deployed, how services communicate, where data lives and how access is controlled.

That means carrying decisions through into day-to-day operation: choosing what to automate, protecting stateful services during changes, and making application and infrastructure behaviour visible enough to investigate problems.

CONTROLLED GITOPS DELIVERY

I built GitOps deployment workflows with different controls for applications and critical infrastructure. Routine changes can reconcile automatically, while stateful services retain explicit control over updates and resource deletion.

I integrated database replication, persistent storage, encryption and scheduled backups into the platform. My experience includes running stateful workloads and managing their storage and retention policies alongside application delivery.

  1. Present

    INFRASTRUCTURE ARCHITECT

    Atlansec

    Designing, building and operating the Kubernetes platform behind business applications, microservices and shared developer services.

    • Build and maintain Kubernetes infrastructure on Talos Linux, including shared services and troubleshooting across workloads, networking and storage.
    • Manage GitOps delivery with Argo CD, automating routine application changes while keeping explicit controls over critical services and data deletion.
    • Operate GitLab, container registries and Kubernetes runners, and connect application workers to queue-driven scaling with KEDA.
    • Run PostgreSQL with CloudNativePG and persistent storage with Longhorn, including replication, encryption, scheduled backups and retention policies.
    • Configure service networking and isolation with Cilium, centralize secrets with OpenBao, and automate TLS certificates with cert-manager.
    • Implemented Istio service mesh for microservices using ambient mode and waypoints, with mTLS, identity-based authorization and HTTP traffic management. Deployed through Argo CD and Helm, with observability in Prometheus, Grafana and Tempo.
    • Use Prometheus, Grafana, Loki and Tempo to investigate issues through metrics, logs and traces, alongside Falco and Trivy for runtime detection and vulnerability scanning.

  2. BACKEND DEVELOPER

    Specialized in backend development with Python and Java, building APIs and services within microservice and event-driven architectures.

    • Developed Python backend services and APIs using FastAPI and Flask.
    • Built Java backend services using the Spring framework.
    • Implemented microservices and event-driven integrations to support asynchronous communication between services.
